Organic Cold 911 Herbal Steam for Sinus Congestion

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s almost winter, which means it’s cold season, which means you’ll probably (almost definitely) find yourself so stuffed up and congested between now and April that even the spiciest of curries barely registers.

For those days when your cold symptoms are so out of hand, it feels like your sinuses might explode, we suggest this DIY herbal steam for some natural congestion relief.

All you need is Organic Cold 911 tea, a bowl and some hot water. Steam is a natural decongestant and eucalyptus (of which there are tons in this blend) is both a decongestant and an expectorant, which naturally helps to loosen any mucus so that you can breathe easier. A herbal steam before bed, and a good night’s rest, should have you feeling better in the morning.

(Fun fact: a face steam is like a mini-facial for your skin, helping to open pores and improve circulation. Not only will you feel better, you’ll look better.)

What you need:

Step 1: Place alarge bowl or pot on a sturdy, flat surface and add 2-4 Perfect Spoons of Organic Cold 911 tea.

Step 2: Boil water and add to the bowl, filling halfway. Cover with a towel and let sit for a minute or two.

Step 3: Lift the towel and check the temperature. If not too hot, close your eyes and lean over the bowl. Drape the towel over your head so that it hangs over both sides of the bowl, keeping the heat trapped.

Step 4: Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Breathe in the steam for up to 10 minutes, taking small breaks from underneath the towel if/when needed.
