Step 1

Heat 2 cups of water in a saucepan over medium-low. Squeeze lemon and lime juice into pan and add the empty citrus halves, salt and ginger. Bring to a low simmer. |

In the meantime, brew tea in the remaining cup of hot water for 7 minutes and strain into saucepan. Add honey and herbs, cover and simmer lightly for 10-15 minutes. |
Step 3

Strain into two 12 oz mugs and sweeten with agave or more honey if desired. Enjoy hot for maximum flavour. |

Pro Tip: Got a stuffy nose? This recipe also makes a great tea steam to help decongest. Just pour the hot tonic in a large bowl, close your eyes, lean over (not too close!), inhale deeply through your nose and breathe in the steam. Aaah… isn’t that better? |
