Classic Stovetop Chai
Some things are worth waiting for. And this stovetop chai is no exception. Made by simmering tea and spices in milk, it’s an age old-tradition for modern times. Because hey… sometimes it’s nice to do things the old-fashioned way. Made with Chai & Mighty black tea.
Ingredients
- 3 Perfect Spoonfuls of Saigon Chai tea
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups milk (high fat milk will make the chai rich and creamy)
- 1 star anise or 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
- Sweetener (agave, honey, maple, sugar)
Directions
Step 1 | |
Add water and spices to a small pot and bring to a boil, then reduce temperature and simmer for 5 minutes. | |
Step 2 | |
Pour in milk and tea and bring to a slow boil. Reduce heat to medium low and let simmer about 8-10 minutes, or until the smell of chai completely permeates your kitchen. | |
Step 3 | |
Strain into mugs and sweeten as desired! |
