How to make a refreshing granita with tea

Hungry for travel? Whet your appetite with an irresistible tea granita, a slush-like drink inspired by the typical Sicilian dessert. It’s kind of like sorbet, but with a granier texture – hence the name granita.

The main ingredient in our version is Just Beet It, a tart & fruity maté blend infused with beetroot, goji & blackberries and super-energizing guarana. Just steep it, freeze it, flake it & you’re ready for takeoff.

Just Beet It Granita

Makes 4-6 servings

  • 6 Perfect Spoons of Just Beet It tea
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1/4 cup of cane sugar


Step 1
In a steeper, add 6 Perfect Spoons of Just Beet It tea to 3 cups of water at 95°C / 200°F & steep for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Then strain into a container with a lid, and place in freezer.
Step 3
Using a fork, stir mixture every 30-60 minutes until it’s slushy & frozen (about 4 hours). Remember to scrape the edges and break up any ice chunks.
Boozy tip: Top with chilled vodka for a refreshing palate cleanser.
Step 4
Scoop into chilled serving glasses & serve.
