With father’s day almost upon us, we wanted to celebrate and shine the light on some of the dads of DAVIDsTEA. So we asked some tea-loving poppas how tea fits into their daily lives and what they’re hoping to receive this Father’s Day. They insisted that they didn’t want anything – maybe a couple of pairs of socks – but after a little prying, we managed to get some real answers. Here’s what they had to say:
Who are you and what’s your role?
Jeff, IT Business Analyst
How does tea fit into your daily routine?
For my response, I lean to a Gary Snyder quote that perfectly describes how tea fits into my routine:
There are those who love to get dirty and fix things. They drink coffee at dawn, beer after work.
And those who stay clean, just appreciate things. At breakfast they have milk and juice at night.
There are those who do both, they drink tea.
Tea for me fits my life and I change what I drink for when I have it.
What do you want for Father’s Day?
There are a few things that I’d like, in no real order.
First, there’s the Lemon ice mold. I like the idea of putting a spin on a drink so simply; I could pre-brew a tea, freeze and then drop these this into a drink.
Second is the Summer Collection Kit – just so I can test out which teas would make good cocktails. After that, I’ll buy a 100g tin worth 😉
Otherwise, a DAVIDsTEA Gift Cards would suffice. I generally like to pick what I want. This way, I can go to a store, grab a drink while I’m there, learn about a new tea and add to my collection. The last time I did that I learned about Pu’erh tea and was deeply fascinated with Golden Pu’erh. I bought it just to sit on it for a few months and try it again… I have maybe a cup a month. It’s my “moment tea,” for when I have a baby free morning and need some help concentrating on my NYT crossword.
Who are you and what’s your role?
Howard, Chief Accounting Officer.
How does tea fit into your daily routine?
From the time I get to work until late in the evening, I’m always drinking tea. It keeps me going throughout the day, and helps me kick back and relax at night.
What do you want for Father’s Day?
This year, I’m hoping for the New Matcha Maker and maybe some Grand Cru Matcha. I’ve been dropping subtle hints for a few of weeks and singing “matcha, matcha, man” whenever they’re around.
Who are you and what’s your role?
Steve, District Manager – Prairies and Great Lakes
How does tea fit into your daily routine?
Tea is a big part of my family’s life. My daughter loves Earl Grey and Birthday Cake. My son, whatever his big sister is drinking. And my wife, Stacey, loves MANY.
For me, it depends on the day and my mood. Sometimes, a morning cup of Nepal Black or Pouchong Oolong. Other days it’s Pumpkin Chai or Cherry Blossom. In store I need a Main Squeeze TeaPoP, and there’s always time for matcha at some point as well.

Let’s see… in my house we have 8 Perfect Mugs, 2 Nordic Mugs, 2 Perfect spoons, a bubble teapot, a Matcha Maker, 1 Carry Travel Mug, 2 Timolinos and about 30 types of loose tea. Not much else I could ask for. Maybe if I ask nicely, David will agree to do licensed NFL Nordic Mugs? Chicago Bears please. That’s right, Sean in IT… Chicago Bears.
