Dark Chocolate No-Bake Custard

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup + 1 tbs of milk (added at the same time)
- 2.5 teaspoons Dark Chocolate Delight
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips (smaller chips work best)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 pinch salt
Directions
Step 1 | |
Combine milk and tea in a small saucepan and heat on medium-low until steaming, but not boiling. Turn heat to low, cover the saucepan and let sit for 5 minutes. | |

Strain the milk into a heatproof cup and stir in sugar until dissolved. | |

Put the egg yolks in a small heatproof bowl and gradually whisk in the hot milk. | |

Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened (2-3 minutes). | |
Step 5 | |
Take the saucepan off heat and whisk in chocolate, butter and salt until smooth. | |
Step 6 | |
Transfer to small custard dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. | |
Step 7 | |
Serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired. Makes 3 small bowls. |
