Cardamom French Toast Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 Perfect Spoonfuls of Cardamom French Toast tea
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 tbs heavy cream
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • about 5 cups brioche or challah bread, sliced into 2 inch cubes (stale bread works best!)

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Step 2
Steep tea in ½ cup boiling water for 5 minutes, then strain into small saucepan set to medium heat.
Step 3
Add milk, cream, butter, sugar, salt and cardamom. Once the butter is melted, remove saucepan from the heat.
Step 4
Grease a baking dish and add cubed bread evenly.
Step 5
Whisk eggs into milk mixture, being careful they don’t cook. Pour mixture over bread and bake for 30-45 minutes, or until custard is set but still wobbly.
