Classic Stovetop Chai

Some things are worth waiting for. And this stovetop chai is no exception. Made by simmering tea and spices in milk, it’s an age old-tradition for modern times. Because hey… sometimes it’s nice to do things the old-fashioned way. Made with Chai & Mighty black tea.

Ingredients

  • 3 Perfect Spoonfuls of Saigon Chai tea
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups milk (high fat milk will make the chai rich and creamy)
  • 1 star anise or 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
  • Sweetener (agave, honey, maple, sugar)

Directions

Step 1
Add water and spices to a small pot and bring to a boil, then reduce temperature and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Pour in milk and tea and bring to a slow boil. Reduce heat to medium low and let simmer about 8-10 minutes, or until the smell of chai completely permeates your kitchen.
Step 3
Strain into mugs and sweeten as desired!
