Dark Chocolate No-Bake Custard

Looking for a sweet treat without turning the over on? This rich and creamy chocolate custard has you covered.


  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbs of milk (added at the same time)
  • 2.5 teaspoons Dark Chocolate Delight
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips (smaller chips work best)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch salt


Step 1
Combine milk and tea in a small saucepan and heat on medium-low until steaming, but not boiling. Turn heat to low, cover the saucepan and let sit for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Strain the milk into a heatproof cup and stir in sugar until dissolved.
Step 3
Put the egg yolks in a small heatproof bowl and gradually whisk in the hot milk.
Step 4
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened (2-3 minutes).
Step 5
Take the saucepan off heat and whisk in chocolate, butter and salt until smooth.
Step 6
Transfer to small custard dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Step 7
Serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired. Makes 3 small bowls.
