For the Kids: Throw the World’s Greatest Tea Party!

You want to host an amazing and memorable tea party for the kids, but you don’t know where to start. Don’t worry… it doesn’t need to be complicated. Whether you’re hosting a group of two or twenty, here’s everything you need to know to make it the best tea party ever!

Location, location, location

For the Kids: Throw the World’s Greatest Tea Party!

First things first: where will it be? If the sun is shining, the garden provides a fresh and vibrant setting for sipping iced tea. Rainy day? The dining room is a sophisticated scenario for steeping. Feeling playful? There’s nothing like a tea party in a pillow fort!

Pick and choose

For the Kids: Throw the World’s Greatest Tea Party!

What’s a tea party without choices? When you invite your guests, ask them what flavours they love most (berries, tropical fruits, lemonade, etc), and pick a few caffeine-free blends to match their choices. Not sure what to choose? Our tea guides will be happy to help you pick something out. Or, try our tea matchmaker! Once you’ve got your teas, prep them in individual iced tea pitchers the night before the party, or use The Steeper to make fresh iced tea on the spot. And don’t forget to set your little guests up with pencils and paper so that they can take notes on their favourites.

Sweet talk

No tea party is complete without snacks. And for kids, nothing beats pastries. Try pairing Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait with fruit tarts, Crème Caramel Rooibos with alfajores, or Forever Nuts with apple strudel. For extra enjoyment effect, try serving your tea and treat pairings as different courses!

Gimme the loot

Want your guests to leave with big smiles on their faces? A small gift bag is the perfect send-off! Turn them into a fun crafting project or pick up a Caffeine Free Sampler and let everyone choose their favourite. And don’t forget to include some tea filters so that they can steep at home!

Have you hosted a kids’ tea party? How about an adult one? We want to hear about it!

One of the best tea parties I had was a mix of children and adults..had everyone bring a straw hat and I supplied the flowers, ribbons, etc and glue gun…adult assistance provided with use of the glue gun for the children….you point, I glue. We all decorated our hats to our hearts content, then wore them during our afternoon tea party. We all had fun seeing everyone’s creations while enjoying our tea, scones, finger sandwiches and pastries.
