Matcha Matsu Green Icing recipe

We never run out of creative ways to infuse tea into everyday recipes. But this time, we’re taking things to a whole new level. Now you can drink your tea and eat it too thanks to our deliciously colourful tea-infused icing recipe featuring matcha and Organic Queen of Tarts tea.

Whether you’re throwing a cookie decorating party or a baking weekend with your besties, dress up your sweet treats with a natural dye-free tea frosting.  It’s quick, easy and only uses 3 ingredients! 

The only thing left to do? Break out those sprinkles and get decorating!

Matcha Green Icing

Green Icing with Matcha Matsu


  • ¼ tsp Matcha Matsu tea
  • 1 tbsp + 2 tsp icing sugar
  • ½ tsp water


Step 1
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.

Queen of Tarts Pink Icing

Pink Icing with Queen of Tarts


  • 2 Perfect Spoonfuls Queen of Tarts
  • 1 cup near-boiling water
  • 1 tbsp + 2½ tsp icing sugar


Step 1
Steep tea in near-boiling water 4 minutes, then strain into a measuring cup and discard tea leaves.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine icing sugar with ½ tsp of steeped tea and mix well.
Step 3
Beautify your treats with this blush-worthy icing.
