Today, we are thrilled and excited to announce our brand new partnership with ME to WE!
The WE family of organizations
Founded in 2008 by Craig and Mark Kielburger, WE is made up of three organizations: ME to WE, WE Day and Free The Children. With chapters domestically and internationally, these groups strive to bring positive change to peoples’ lives and to make the world a better place.
1) ME to WE empowers people to change the world with their everyday choices. When you purchase any ME to WE product, a portion of the profits are donated to Free the Children – the other portion is reinvested to grow their social mission.
2) WE Day celebrates youths who are making a difference in their local and global communities, through a powerful, life-changing event that combines the energy of a live concert with the inspiration of extraordinary stories of leadership and change.
3) Free the Children works globally to empower communities to lift themselves out of poverty through a holistic and sustainable development model.
How does it work?
Together, we’ve developed a signature ME to WE Tea and travel mug, with a portion of all sales bringing clean water to children in developing Kenyan communities. How does this impact the community? Improving access to clean water reduces illness, allows girls to go to school instead of spending hours collecting water, and leads to better agriculture and access to food.
Why ME to WE?
For David, it’s simple: “Our goal for the partnership is to provide a source of clean water for thousands of people. As a tea company, the issue of clean water is close to our hearts, which is why we feel this is such an important initiative for DAVIDsTEA to be part of.”
Sounds like the start of something amazing, right? Craig and David couldn’t agree more. Check out their video below!
Amazing things can happen when people connect over a cup of tea. When we come together, WE can change the world. Join us in providing clean water, helping empower a generation to create brighter futures. And be sure to spread the word by sharing your #metowemoment.
