Become a Frequent Steeper (DAVIDsTEA Loyalty Program)

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Free tea, exclusive offers and lots of other cool perks… it pays to be a Frequent Steeper! Here’s how to get started.

Before you start claiming your rewards, you’ll need to register for the program. This can be done either in store or online. And as if the program wasn’t sweet already, as a bonus, you get a free cup of tea just for signing up and creating your profile!

How it Works

In-Store Customers

When you sign up in-store, we give you two cards — one for your wallet and one for your keychain. Every time you make a purchase, present either card to a tea guide and they will log the points to your account.

Online Customers

A card is not required for online customers. Just create an account and fill out the signup form here. When you make purchases online, points will be automatically added to your account.

What’s in it for you?

Earn Free Loose Leaf Tea!

Each time you make a purchase in-store or online, you’ll earn points towards free tea!

For every dollar you spend in-store or online, you will earn one point. For every 100 points you earn, you get 50g of any tea for free! So, if you earn 200 points you get two 50g bags of any tea for free!

Free Cup of Tea on Your Birthday

If you tell us your birthday (year optional), we’ll also give you a free cup of any tea on that day! Can’t make it in on your birthday? Don’t worry, you’ve got 30 days to claim your cup.

Claiming Your Tea

Every three months, we’ll send you an email and update your account telling you how much free tea you’ve earned. If you don’t earn enough points for a free bag loose leaf tea, we’ll roll the balance over into the next 3-month period. At the end of December, we reset your point balance.

I am wondering if the birthday reward shows up in email or on the card. I don’t see anything on mine. Did this feature get removed?

Hey Angelica! For online shopping, all you need is the email address associated with your Frequent Steeper account.

I’ve been making a ton of purchases in store recently and they have been scanning my frequent steeper card, but when I check my account online, my points haven’t changed. Why aren’t my points increasing?

  6. Flora October 7, 2015 at 7:58 pm #

How do I link my Frequent Steeper card to my email account?

  7. Jolie October 11, 2015 at 12:09 am #

I recently got a frequent steeper card in store. I got the confirmation email I clicked the confirmation button. On the page that the confirmation button leads me to, there is a link that says, “Fill in additional information and receive a reward for doing so”. To my understanding, filling in the additional information will earn me a reward, and if I fill in my birthday information, will get me a free birthday drink. However, when I click the link it only reloads the page. I was wondering how I can fill in this additional information.

    • DAVIDsTEA October 16, 2015 at 9:21 pm #

Hey Jolie! So sorry about the technical issue you encountered. Would it be possible to send an email to The team will be more than happy to add your birthday to your account.

I was wondering if more than one free tea could be redeemed at once online and in store?
    Thanks 🙂

    • DAVIDsTEA October 26, 2015 at 9:13 pm #

Hey Katherine! You can definitely redeem more than one reward at at time both online and in-store 🙂

Hi! Love your stuff! Have had a Frequent Steeper card for a bit, but now just created by online account. How do I connect the two?

  11. Jane December 5, 2015 at 9:29 pm #

I signed up online, I do not have a card. But it said I would get a free tea by filling out info and it did not show anything after filling it out

    • DAVIDsTEA December 7, 2015 at 4:40 pm #

Hey Jane! Do you shop in-store? If so, once you visit a store you can ask the Tea Guide for a Frequent Steeper card associated with the email you used to sign up online. Also, your free tea is automatically added to your card (and e-mail) so all you have to do is give the Tea Guide your email in-store and you’ll get a tea to-go. You have 30 days to redeem it 🙂

  12. Liz February 2, 2016 at 2:35 pm #

I’ve gotten a card, but emailed you guys. Does it take long for you guys to respond and will the teas I bought still go to that card?

    • DAVIDsTEA February 4, 2016 at 7:04 pm #

Hey Liz! When did you e-mail customer service? We try to answer everyone within two days so if you haven’t been replied to yet, it won’t be much longer 🙂

  13. Hannah February 4, 2016 at 12:06 am #

Do I have to make an account in order for my card to work in stores?

    • DAVIDsTEA February 4, 2016 at 7:02 pm #

Hey Hannah! You’ll need to give an e-mail to have it associated with your card. No shipping address info is necessary if you’re online buying in-store.

Hey I bought some super delicious teas just a few days ago and used my Freequent Steeper card. I waited about 24ish hours for them too add up online, but they never did, so I’m still stuck at 0 points, although I bought a lot of stuff.

    • DAVIDsTEA March 10, 2016 at 9:38 pm #

Sorry to hear that, Bella! Please reach out to frequentsteeper[at] so we can follow up.

  15. Shane November 29, 2016 at 3:52 pm #

Hi, how do I find out the email account that my steeper card is connected to? Can it be switch? Thanks.

  16. Joanna December 18, 2016 at 7:25 am #

Hello, I signed up online but I don’t have a card yet and I’m not sure how to redeem my free cup of tea.

  17. Lily January 27, 2017 at 3:14 pm #

I’m not sure if I understand. So is it when we reach 100 points that we can redeem it for tea or do we have to wait for the roll over?

    • DAVIDsTEA February 8, 2017 at 12:29 pm #

Hi Lily! Once you reach 100 points it’ll be converted to 50g bag of tea at the next redemption period.
